About Us Take 2 – 2025

When I started this website, as I said, my husband and I were on a sabbatical from our jobs as educators. We took the year to travel as much as time, COVID, and finances would allow. We bought a small 14 foot RV and took to the road.

That was 2020/2021. Now it is 2025. Much has happened in between.

My husband has retired – I have one school year to go. Our children have grown, graduated, and are living their adult lives. But most importantly, to this website, we sold the RV. It simply didn’t make sense to keep it when we went back to work. We would have used it for camping trips here and there – but it actually did not devaluate in the year that we used it as RV’s usually do. It was still COVID times – people were still looking for ways to travel within the country and with as little contact to others as possible. Small, easily towable RV’s were a hot commodity. So we sold it for the same price we paid for it the year before.

Since then, my husband and I have taken up more backcountry camping – backpacking, a canoe trip, one car camping trip. I have been day hiking on weekends as much as I can in our area, and taking weekend trips for some solitude in provincial parks and “resorts” in the woods.

We are still trying fill our lust for travel and the outdoors – just differently.
